Learning Cycle
What makes TCA’s education incomparable and effective is that our education is student oriented. From the moment a student enters our doors, their learning experience is personalized and tailored to ensure that the education they receive is whole and complete.
This is the TCA advantage. We focus on providing the best education possible for our students by individualizing and tailoring each student’s learning plan to nurture their strengths, improve upon their weaknesses, and work towards their future aspirations.
We do this by using our own Student Success Focused Learning Cycle and incorporating regular communication between the student, parents, teachers, and the education counselors. This learning cycle is designed to motivate our students in their studies and encourage them to take initiative in their learning. We do this by helping the students create their own short-term and long-term goals and by ensuring that they are supported each step of the way.
Step 1: Assess
Before starting their journey at TCA, students’ strengths and weaknesses are evaluated through TCA’s academic entry tests and the examination of their previous grades (if applicable). The education counselor will also meet with the students and their parents to discuss the student’s interests and aspirations for future studies. Based on this, the student’s education counselor will suggest a path that will fulfill the student’s short-term and long-term goals.
Step 2: Guide
Based on the student’s abilities and goals from Step 1, the educators and the student’s education counselor will formulate and tailor a unique course plan that will enable the student to achieve their goals and reach his/her dreams. Our educators will provide the students the needed guidance to ensure that they are motivated and successful in completing their learning.
Step 3: Adjust
Once the course plan is implemented, throughout the school year the education counselor and educators will work with the student and their parents to ensure that the student is staying on track. If need be, whether it’s due to a change in the student’s interests or in their academic performance, adjustments will be made to the initial Student Success Focused Learning Plan to accommodate these changes. In this process, there will be regular and continued communication between the student and their parents, and the educators and the student’s education counselor. Reevaluating the student’s grades and interest, reformulating the plan, and providing guidance and further adjustments, if needed will make changes.
